RBC HERITAGE CHAMPION JORDAN SPIETH WILL DEFEND HIS TITLE AT DESIGNATED EVENT

Jordan Spieth will be defending his title. He will be joined by Team RBC ambassadors Sams Burns, Corey Conners, Sahith Theegala and Cameron Young.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Monday, Feb. 27, 2023) – The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and the host to South Carolina’s annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, is proud to announce the first commitments to the 55th event, taking place April 10-16, 2023. Jordan Spieth will be defending his title at Harbour Town Golf Links for the RBC Heritage, which was selected by the PGA TOUR as a designated event for 2023. He will be joined by Team RBC ambassadors Sam Burns, Corey Conners, Sahith Theegala and Cameron Young.

Jordan Spieth bested Patrick Cantlay in a playoff on the 18th hole to win the 54th RBC Heritage. Spieth joined the PGA TOUR in 2013 after receiving a sponsor exemption for the RBC Heritage. He finished that tournament tied for ninth. He has won thirteen times on the PGA TOUR including three majors. He was named PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year in 2013 and was the 2015 FedExCup Champion. He is currently ranked 17th on the Official World Golf Ranking and will be making his seventh start at Harbour Town.

Sam Burns has carded four PGA TOUR victories. The Louisiana native joined the PGA TOUR in 2018 and is enjoying his first year on Team RBC. He finished 9th in his first start at the RBC Heritage in 2019 and will be competing at Harbour Town for the fourth time. He is currently ranked 14th on the Official World Golf Ranking.

Corey Conners joined the winner’s circle on the PGA TOUR at the 2019 Valero Texas Open shortly after he joined Team RBC. His win at Valero made him the first Monday Qualifier to win on the PGA TOUR since 2010. He is from Ontario, Canada and has a degree in Actuarial Mathematics from Kent State University. He made his professional start at the 2015 RBC Heritage after receiving a sponsor exemption. He is currently ranked 40th on the Official World Golf Ranking and will be making his seventh start at Harbour Town.

Sahith Theegala joined Team RBC earlier this year following an impressive rookie season, carding 10 top ten finishes. The Pepperdine grad and California native had an impressive collegiate career and was the NCAA’s top ranked player when the 2020 season ended due to COVID-19. He is currently ranked 31st on the Official World Golf Ranking and is making his second start at the RBC Heritage.

Cameron Young has carded five runner-up finishes but is still searching for his first win on the PGA TOUR. The Wake Forest grad is ranked second behind Rory McIlroy for longest driving distance this season. He joined Team RBC shortly after he was named the PGA TOUR’s rookie of the year in 2022. He is currently ranked 16th on the Official World Golf Ranking and is competing at Harbour Town for the second time after a T3 finish last year.
