Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry Headline the Latest Pros to Commit

Brian Harman, Rickie Fowler, Shane Lowry and Jimmy Walker are competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event will be held April 11-17 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Thursday, March 31, 2022) – The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality throughout South Carolina, is proud to announce Brian Harman, Rickie Fowler, Shane Lowry and Jimmy Walker are competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event will be held April 11-17 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

They will join a field that includes defending champion Stewart Cink and Team RBC Ambassadors Dustin Johnson and Harold Varner III. Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another tartan jacket. Other notable commitments include Abraham Ancer, Daniel Berger, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Cameron Smith and Justin Thomas.

Fowler’s first start at Harbour Town was as an amateur thanks to a sponsors exemption in 2008. He has earned five PGA TOUR victories, most recently at the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open and has three International wins. He and his wife Allison became parents last year, when their daughter Maya was born on Thanksgiving Day. The 33-year-old will be making his sixth start at the RBC Heritage.

Harman captured the golf world’s attention in 2012 during the second round of The Honda Classic when he shattered the course record with a 61. The Savannah, Georgia native finished the tournament tied for 12th. He has received two Heritage exemptions, the first in 2004 while in high school and then again in while attending the University of Georgia in 2006. Since turning pro in 2009, has earned two PGA TOUR victories. He is making his 13th start at the RBC Heritage.

Lowry recently made headlines after finishing in second place at The Honda Classic during a terrible rainstorm. The Ireland native has carded three international wins and has earned two victories on the PGA TOUR including the 2019 British Open Championship. The 34-year-old will be making his fifth start at Harbour Town after finishing tied for third in 2019 and tied for ninth in 2021.

Walker has competed at the RBC Heritage just four times since turning pro in 2001. The Baylor University graduate has carded six victories on the PGA TOUR including the 2016 TOUR Championship where his opening round scores of 65-66 at Baltusrol were good enough to tie the lowest opening 36-hold score in the tournament’s history.
