Number Two Ranked Collin Morikawa Headlines Latest Commitments

Collin Morikawa will be competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. He will be joined by Englishmen Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood, who have also committed to South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event being held April 11-17, 2022 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (Thursday, March 10, 2022) – The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting educational and charitable initiatives to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality throughout South Carolina, is proud to announce Collin Morikawa will be competing in the 2022 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. He will be joined by Englishmen Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood, who have also committed to South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event being held April 11-17, 2022 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

They will join a field that includes defending champion Stewart Cink and Team RBC Ambassadors Dustin Johnson and Harold Varner III. Team RBC Ambassadors and past champions Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another tartan jacket.

Collin Morikawa is currently number two in the Official World Golf Ranking. The California native has earned five victories on the PGA TOUR since turning pro in 2019. Two of those wins were majors -- his debut at the 2021 Open Championship and the 2020 PGA Championship. He represented the United States at the 2020 Ryder Cup and Olympic Games. The 2022 season is starting off strong for the Cal-Berkeley graduate. He has carded four consecutive top-10 finishes in as many starts. He will be competing at Harbour Town for the third time after finishing T7 in 2021.

Matt Fitzpatrick’s Official World Golf Ranking is 25th and he has earned seven international victories. The Sheffield native joined the PGA TOUR in 2020 and has carded two top ten finishes in 2022. He earned a spot in the 2014 RBC Heritage at just 19 years old by winning the 2013 U.S. Amateur, and was the number one amateur at that time. The now 27 year old will be making his eighth start at Harbour Town Golf Links this year.

Tommy Fleetwood is ranked 50th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has carded six international victories during his career. The Englishman has carded four second place finishes on the PGA TOUR including the 2019 Open Championship and the 2018 US Open. He will be making his third start at the RBC Heritage.
