RBC HERITAGE JOINS PGA TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES IN 2028

[HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC] September 3, 2026 -- The RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing today announced it will be part of the PGA TOUR Championship Series beginning in 2028, continuing a proud legacy as the PGA Tour enters an exciting era with a new competitive model.

The complete 2028 PGA TOUR Championship Series schedule, including tournament dates, venues and event names, will be announced at a later date.

First announced in June 2026, the PGA Tour Championship Series will feature the PGA Tour’s top performers competing head-to-head across the season. There will be approximately 23-24 events, inclusive of THE PLAYERS Championship, major championships, postseason and international team events (Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup), with the season running from February through August.

Known as South Carolina's premier PGA Tour event, the RBC Heritage has been played on Hilton Head Island since 1969. Since its founding in 1987, the tournament's host organization, the Heritage Classic Foundation, has distributed more than $65.6 million to charitable and community initiatives that enrich the lives of South Carolina residents.

RBC is a long-standing supporter of golf at the professional and amateur levels, with the 2026 tournament marking RBC's 15th year as title sponsor. This year marked the fourth consecutive year with elevated status on the PGA Tour schedule, having been designated a Signature Event for the past three years following its Designated Event status in 2023.

The 2027 RBC Heritage will be contested April 12-18 and will once again be broadcast on CBS Sports.
